The Hunger Games

I admit it – I was completely sucked in by this movie!  I hadn’t read any of the books and went into it barely knowing the story, so I didn’t have any real expectations.  Their society was pretty much just the wealthy and the poor – no in between - and the main reason for the games seemed to be for the entertainment of the wealthy.  Jennifer Lawrence, who portrayed the main character, Katniss, did an incredible job and captured her independence, her slightly rebellious attitude and her resourcefulness, along with showing us her caring side.  There seemed to be all kinds of small plot twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat and I didn’t have any idea which direction some of the scenes were going to take.  Something else I liked about this movie were all of the characters and how I felt about them.  I cared about each of them and it was hard watching them go through this ordeal and have to fight to the death just because they “won” a lottery and were forced to – they had no choice in being in The Hunger Games.  All that being said, I would definitely watch it again.  It was very entertaining!
