Lawless

Lawless is an engrossing and engaging movie!  Based on a true story, “The Wettest County in the World,” it tells the story of the Bondurant Brothers and their bootlegging business set in the prohibition-era in the backwoods of Virginia.  This movie told the bloody, cold, and hard life of the bootlegging business and the law men that were out to shut them down.  Shia LaBeauf gives an outstanding performance of Jack, the youngest brother.  Howard, the middle, hot-headed brother is played by Jason Clarke but it’s the oldest brother, Forrest, played by Tom Hardy that is the head and heart of the business.  The movie runs 2 hours in length but the story sucks you in that you don’t mind the time.  It is very violent in parts, but then again, it is based on a true story of a time period where lawlessness probably did rule parts of the country.  I really liked this movie, it kept me on the edge of my seat and I would watch it again.
